What if you wake up @ 2am in extreme pain and are rushed to the hospital to have surgery. Weeks later you receiver the hospital bill that costs 20k. Insurance covers 1/4th of that, what do you do then?

Actually, I was kinda thinking along the lines of government workers, who require TAX MONEY to pay their bills. They do not pay taxes, yet march around and tell us what we should pay. (Before you spew, if your check is purely from tax dollars, none are being withheld, since you never truly paid into the system in the first place.)
And since when was it selfish to ask folks to pay their own bills? I do that every month. Am I SELFISH for doing so? Better look the word up again.

Lots of folks work and pay thier own bills including some folks who recieve welfare benefits. Did you know that thier are military families who recieve food stamps, would you call soldiers lazy bums? I know of 2 Airline pilots who are also on food stamps are they lazy bums? What about folks who have state funded children insurance to cover thier young children are they lazy bums?
1 question to yours…if the welfare wasn’t there, would these same people be starving and dead, or would they have found other means to support themselves?

My senior father was in the hospital for 4 days in August. Room,meals,tests,imaging,doctors,exercise phys’s,nutritionists etc all added up. A statement came in the mail with a figure $35,000. I shit you not.
